Welcome to our Adventure!!!

Recently I suffered a heart attack and felt I needed to do something to improve my health. So I decided to walk across the US!. Who knows how far I'll get . I hope that I don't give up before the walk is complete. I have a job http://www.adventureamerica.com/ and I write books http://www.doorwaytozahr.com/, so I'm not able to do the walk on a continues basses. But I restart exactly where I leave off each time. With Alex taking care of logistics and drop off and pick up at the end of the walk each day. Come join us! We would welcome other walkers.
Have a good one!

DAVIS

2/14/10 Very nice walk today we had made plans to walk a little with my daughter Jennifer my boy Amal Jennifer's husband Paul and their kids Jason and Luke . It was a short walk because of the kids. we walked a little over 2 miles, short but was nice to have the company. Jennifer plays a kind of game of using g p s coordinates to locate little hidden packages . We found two of them and she signed her name on a paper and returned the hidden prize. It looked like a lot of fun I think I'll play it too. We found 5 cents.

Trip to Davis

2/13/10 We walked 6 miles today made it to Davis. It was a nice walk lots of fog and somewhat cold . The scenery was minimal not much to enjoy. Just ranches and nut tree orchards mostly. I started to get stomach cramps so we kept the walk down to only 6 miles.

To Davis

2/12/10 We walked a total of 5 miles today heading towards Davis on rd 31. Alex got hassled by the sheriffs here. He was stopped twice on the walk. He had dropped me at winters went 5 miles down the road then started walking towards me. During that time he was made to put his hands on the sheriffs car and was padded down and asked a bunch of questions. He said the sheriffs made fun of what we were doing. Then before he could reach me they did it again. I asked if he was angry about it, he said no. All's well that ends well. We found 1dollor 81cents.

Putah Creek and Winters

2/6/10 We walked a total of 9.5 miles today along the Puta creek all the way until we reached the town of Winters. the walk along the river was beautiful with many ducks and lots of rolling hills and green blue water . Once we got down to the flat lands it lost its beauty . Mostly just walnut tree orchards and small family ranches with some animals. when we walked along the high school the students were being let out of school we seemed to draw some interests with them joking at us . All in good fun. We found 10 cents.

LAKE BEREYSSA

1/31/10

Today we departed from near lake Berryessa and we walked a total of 6.5 miles. not as much as usual due to our business backing up and not enough time. It was crazy! Motorcycles speeding along hwy 128 probably because of the perfect riding weather. We ended up at a nice camp ground called Canyon Creek resort. The weather was perfect . The walk quick only 2,5 hours but some of the nicest scenery to date. We found a total of 59 cents.

FROM NAPA TO LAKE BEREYESSA

1/23/10
we had the most beautiful scenery today since we had begun walking. the oak tree is this are full of a hanging moss it must be just the right elevation along with temperature and humidity to allow the moss to grow so long. It made for a surreal look to the forest something like out of a movie. we walked also the longest as for the time on foot at 4hrs and twenty minutes of nonstop walking, I know it doesn't should like that long , but as bad a shape as I'm in its hard to do , any way working on that. We are just about reaching lake Berryessa and should be walking past that on next trip, we did 9.5 miles this trip it was up and down walking in the mountains so the distance was not as far as I had expected. we found 75 cents this walk

FROM NAPA TO LAKE BEREYESSA

We walked about 6 miles today less than usual because 3 miles was up a steep grade on hwy 121. There was little room on either side of the road and you needed to be careful as to not get to close to the traffic. It was perfect weather for walking, perhaps 65 , I was in a t-shirt most of the 3 hours. It is a very beautiful walk with a great deal of green mountains and valleys to look at . The foliage is dense and we did not see any animals. we stopped and gave two guys directions using Alex's gps to where their roofing job was and a police man gave a warning ticket to Alex about where he parked along the road. Alex follows me by parking perhaps 3-5 miles ahead and then walking towards me until we meet then does it again where we finish. This way we have a car when were done, yet I walk the full distance. Starting again exactly where I left off. We found 88 cents today.
