Welcome to our Adventure!!!

Recently I suffered a heart attack and felt I needed to do something to improve my health. So I decided to walk across the US!. Who knows how far I'll get . I hope that I don't give up before the walk is complete. I have a job http://www.adventureamerica.com/ and I write books http://www.doorwaytozahr.com/, so I'm not able to do the walk on a continues basses. But I restart exactly where I leave off each time. With Alex taking care of logistics and drop off and pick up at the end of the walk each day. Come join us! We would welcome other walkers.
Have a good one!

Smith Valley on Hwy 208 along the river

Ron and I walked a total of 10 miles from Smith Valley town center to a rest stop on hwy 208 along the river. Stopped and got a juice at nice country store and sat out front for a while and rested then continued on to here: http://www.blm.gov/nv/st/en/fo/carson_city_field/blm_programs/recreation/wilson_canyon.html. While on our way about 3/4 the way to the end a nice lady in a blue sedan stopped on the highway and asked us where we were headed. She said she had seen us the day before walking and wondered where we were going. I told her across the united states!.. she seemed quite excited and was going to try to find the blog... It was nice that she stopped to say hello and check to see if she could assist us. I found one penny today.

Hwy 208, Wellington, NA

Ron and myself walked today 9 miles starting on hwy 208 heading east passing through a small town called Wellington. We Had a nice breakfast at Rosie's cafe in town. It had authentic Mexican food that we enjoyed. We continued on another couple of miles to the town of Smith Valley another small community along the Walker river. The town was very quite mostly just ranchers and farmers, all seemed friendly. We found a total of 7 cents today.

Santa Clause

4/30/10 Today was an interesting walk I went the farthest I have done by walking 11 miles. I hope that means I'm getting in better shape. I had the pleasure of meeting up with a man whom I think is the real Santa Clause. He called himself Raymond but I think it was just to not make me suspicious. hehe. Anyway he sure looked like Santa if he wasn't. We walked as mentioned before 11 mile continuing south on 395. We also found a total of 40 cents

4/29/10 Ron a long time friend walked along today. We started at hwy 88 about 4 miles into Nevada and walked about 6 miles until we reach hwy 395 and headed south .Walked another couple of miles onto 395. The weather was nice ,we walled a large valley with scattered newer houses, the mountains of the sierras in the backdrop. Around the time we reached hwy 395 it began a light snow. We found a total of $1.44.

BORDER OF NEVADA

Finally reached the Nevada border! Found a small American flag on the side of the road and attached it to my walking stick. Did not like the look of it sitting in the dirt. It was a nice walk along 88 lots of small farms , many for sale. Found a class ring of someone's said "Dayton high class of 96" I'll look for initials on the inside as soon as I can straighten it out to try to return it to the owner. Walked only about 8 miles today . Did not find any money this walk.
