Welcome to our Adventure!!!

Recently I suffered a heart attack and felt I needed to do something to improve my health. So I decided to walk across the US!. Who knows how far I'll get . I hope that I don't give up before the walk is complete. I have a job http://www.adventureamerica.com/ and I write books http://www.doorwaytozahr.com/, so I'm not able to do the walk on a continues basses. But I restart exactly where I leave off each time. With Alex taking care of logistics and drop off and pick up at the end of the walk each day. Come join us! We would welcome other walkers.
Have a good one!

PETALUMA - SONOMA

1/2/10
Was raining a light rain when Alex dropped me off about 3 miles before Petaluma. was not much to tell about walked through the city and ended up at a little bar. We stopped for about 1/2 hour at a star bucks I had a hot tea and a chocolate cupcake Alex had a hot tea, there were a ton of pretty girls that came and went from the Star Bucks the walk took about 3 and 1/2 hours for a total of9.9 miles. We found 64 cents on the walk.

1/6/10
it was very foggy when we left the bar for a walk towards Sonoma today departed at 9;05 walked for a total of about 8.3 miles it took about 3 hours and 10 minutes. I had a couple of revelations today that the walking seems to clean me somewhat. it feels as if my body is becoming cleaner and my mind seems more at peace . you tend to not think of the traffic as it zooms buy but more tune it out and enjoy the walk. we did less miles today because we went through a rather dangerous area where the road was without much shoulder and lots of turns so I wanted to go at it slower than usual. no animals were seen to speak of and the fog never cleared. we found 23 cents on the walk today.

1/9/10

Amal came along on this walk he did great for a 11 year old he walked with me for about 8.5 miles we stopped in a small cafe on hwy 121 and ate breakfast with Alex the food was very good it was all homemade style the orange juice hand squeezed by the taste of it. I tied an American flag on my walking stick today. we would have walked father but I had stomach problems all that morning and felt uncomfortable with the walk . We saw lots of vineyards on this walk and we stopped about 1.5 miles shy of Napa on old Sonoma road it was a lot of fun with amal walking with me he did a great job and never complained we found 25 cents on the walk.
